Satchel
Satchel

We have had "Satchie"'for several weeks now, and it has been SO wonderful! He is such a joy and tons of fun! He adores the boys and just wants to follow them everywhere! ( We have 3 boys 6, 4 and 2.) Some of Satchies favorite activities are: Chasing the boys around. Chasing the cat around. Running in the back yard and going for rides in the car! Catching the yummy food that falls from the high chair. Snuggling every second he gets! Especially in the big bed at night! He also loves to play with his doggy toys, and every once in a while he will sneak Into the boys room to play with their stuffed animals! His tail is always wagging and he always has love to give! There is no way you can be in a bad mood around Satchie because he is our little ray of sunshine! He has even motivated our other basset to be a bit more active :-) My husband and I know that our sweet Gordon that passed away last month is smiling down on us so happy that we found Satchel. They would have been best buddies! We are so grateful to Basset Buddies for the work they put into helping these animals, and helping them find their forever homes.

Shilah

Shilah is doing great and adjusting well to her new home. My apartment complex is on a lake and there's a lot of ducks around the neighborhood that she loves stalking and chasing! I've been taking her running with me at the park, and she's gotten up to half a mile before she lays down and quits running. Ha ha ha. She's such a loving girl and follows me around the house and constantly looks to get pet and snuggle. I took her to the dog park yesterday and she could care less about playing with the dogs there, she was more interested in making her rounds to all the people there to get some lovin! She makes me laugh every day, and I'm so happy and blessed to have her. Kim

Sage

Lily (Sage) is the sweetest dog we have ever encountered -- exuberant, fearless, lovable. The vet said she was in excellent health and a fine basset hound. We have put weight back on her -- she weighs 45 lbs (vet scale). Her spay surgery healed perfectly. We take her on walks every day. Doug walks her for a short neighborhood walk in the morning and we take her for a long walk in the park in the evening. We taught her to sit and shake paws and to stay. We are in love with her.

Shorty
Shorty

Good Morning! I just wanted to send a little note to let you know that Shorty is doing GREAT!! He is such a sweetheart and lover - he loves to be on top of us. He's doing great with Emma and our daughters. He has not had one accident in the house and only a few little minor "puppy mishaps." I have been having a lot of time at home with him - he joined our family Sat., the 10th and on Mon. the 12th, I was put on partial bedrest for my pregnancy, so there has been a lot of bonding! Thank you so much for bringing us our "little dude", he's already brought us a lot of joy!!! Matt, Laura, Symantha, Ellie, Emma and Shorty

Sam
Sam

I adopted Sam who is now officially "TATER" on Sunday 09/09/2007. Today is Tuesday 09/11/2007. I have to thank Shari and Allison for all of their help through the adoption process. It was truly painless.

Tater is the perfect replacement companion for my Roscoe who passed last month. They could not be more different. Roscoe was a Mini Schnauzer and full of life. I love him and will never forget him.

Tater has come into my home and taken over in just three short days. I now sleep in Tater's bed, sit on his couch and walk in his neighborhood. Tater has an abundance of personality and vive. Lets not confuse this with energy - lol. He would just as soon lay in my lap as walk down the street.

He has helped heal the wound in my heart for the loss of Roscoe. I love him and feel he is already a vital part of my family. If you are reading this and are thinking about adopting a Basset, look no further than Basset Buddies Rescue. The have the perfect basset to take you over.

Thanks again Shari and Allison,
Jim and Tater Herndon
